Reprieve Blues Band
Reprieve Blues Band is a Chicago based five piece blues “jam” band, while adding in a mixture of Rock and R&B. Highly influenced by T-Bone Walker, Buddy Guy, Eric Clapton to Stevie Ray Vaughan, and performing tunes by Grover Washington Jr, Etta James, Rolling Stones and the Doors. The blues has always been rooted in hardship and suffering, and even in its more up tempo and hedonistic styles, its motivating force has been to fashion a momentary escape from the pain of life, In other words a Reprieve from everyday life.
Our goal is to transcend the traditions of blues music while injecting our own styles of interpretation and improvisation. Our band with members all born in Chicago, in five different decades proves that blues music does pass the test of time. Blues music seems to be a music that stays fresh and young, constantly renewing itself.
