Charissa Mrowka
Charissa Mrowka, age 14, hailed to be the next Taylor Swift is a singer/songwriter and recording artist with the dream of becoming a famous country/pop artist. She is a well seasoned veteran of the stage, who has been performing all around IL, IN, WI, OH and Nashville since age 7 and with her own band, Charissa & Aburn Sky since age 10. In addition, she studies, guitar, percussion, drama, and musical theatre and still manages to stay on the high honor roll at school! She has already shared the stage with and or opened for country superstars: Phil Vassar, Gretchen Wilson, LeAnn Rimes, Neal McCoy, Rodney Atkins, Lonestar, JoDee Messina, Billy Currington, Kellie Pickler, Bucky Covington, Pat Green, Chuck Wicks, Heidi Newfield, Trick Pony, Billy Ray Cyrus, Joe Diffie and the Oakridge Boys. She has performed at venues such as the House of Blues in Chicago and Ohio, Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge, The Nashville Palace, Legends Corner in Nashville, IL, WI, and IN State Fairs/showcases, Genesee and Arcada Theatre, Keylime Cove and Noah’s Ark Water Parks, city and county fairs/fests, telethons, corporate and private events. She has worked directly on several projects with Michael Yerke, President of the House of Blues and Talent Buyer for Live Nation, which included her opening for Disney’s Mitchel Musso, Honor Society, and KSM Band, and the making of her first professional music video to an original song titled, “Come On Now,” under the direction of Grammy-Award-Winning Producer, Hank Neuberger in 2008. She is extremely excited that she recently released her 2010 CD EP produced by Skip and Lynn Saylor in California, under the Guitar Girls Records label which can be purchased online and at venues now! She is scheduled to begin working on her new 2011 Full CD with the Saylor’s! Charissa is proud that her recording to a song written by Lynn Carey Saylor “Hold On And Breathe” has been officially adopted to represent the “American Foundation Of Suicide Prevention.” The song can be found for sale on iTunes on AFSP website at www.afsp.org with portions of the proceeds going directly to support the cause. This project has special meaning to Charissa as she lost a beloved friend/dance instructor to suicide in 2009. She is scheduled to perform, “Hold On And Breathe” LIVE at the annual AFSP Fundraising Benefits. Your support in purchasing the song on ITunes would be greatly appreciated! In addition, after Charissa opened for Rodney Atkins in 2009, she caught the attention of Shawn Byrne/lead guitarist/songwriter in Rodney Atkins Band, which resulted with the invite to record two of Shawn’s songs with him in Nashville, 2010! Charissa is scheduled to continue working with Shawn! On Oct. 10, 2009, she performed on two episodes of the Nashville Spotlight T.V. Show, and was selected to perform in the “Nashville Spotlight Showcase” during CMA Music Fest in Nashville on June 9th, 2010! She was the State Winner of the nation’s largest Country Music Contest “Colgate Country Showdown” in 2007, setting a record as the youngest contestant to ever be named the Wisconsin State Champion. Also named the winner of the Main Stage Talent Contest at Country Thunder USA in 2006 and was selected to shoot an Advertisement Commercial for CTUSA in 2007! Charissa & Auburn Sky were named the winners of the “Star Spangled” and the “Rock The Ark” Battle of the Bands competitions in 2010 and are scheduled to perform at their 2010 venues. She has also had her share of radio air time over the years and was selected by Lisa Dent and Ramblin Ray of US99.5 FM Radio to have her debut and AIR LIVE as the featured celebrity artist on their special morning show, “The Diner Tour” on June 26, 2008! Several of her original songs she recorded, “Come On Now,” (co-written by Charissa,) “You See Me,” (music and lyrics written solely by Charissa,) “Hold On and Breathe,” and “102 Songs About You” (written by Lynn Saylor) have aired on FM106.1 radio as well as numerous other stations. Although country music is her main passion, she has also enjoyed performing her “Tribute to Hannah Montana Show” which has been quite popular with the fairs for the past 3 years! Charissa’s passion is to perform and she has never left an audience disappointed. She plans to make this a lifetime career.

Charissa Rocks. I ‘met’ her a year ago or so. In my opinion, she has everything needed to be great. She has the gift, and is willing to do the work.
