Jeff Dale Comes Back to Chicago
By · CommentsIf you find yourself close to the city on June 13th, check out Jeff Dale
Jeff Dale was born and raised on the south side of Chicago and was taught how to play the blues by two itinerant blues musicians from the west side when he was 13 years old. Jeff soon turned to blues songwriting and performing and eventually his travels took him to southern California where he hooked up with the Blue Wave Band, playing with them and releasing two albums of Jeff’s original songs until 1988 when Jeff disappeared.

Aftermath
By · CommentsBorn and raised in the Chicago Suburbs, the musical powerhouse group called ‘Aftermath’ is all about good friends playing GREAT music. As a concept bred by Dru Ruger and Jesse Schramel- Aftermath was in a developmental stage making music for a rough year and a half before recruiting the talented and long time friend- Zack Mayfield on the bass guitar. Zack brings a hard hitting jazz and classical style tune to Dru’s tough, catchy and metal oriented guitar riffs and Jesse’s Grungy-blues vocal style. After a year of laying down music, Aftermath had searched for the final piece to the puzzle. Brian Dietrich was brought into Aftermath with his ‘Speed-metal’ and earth pounding knowledge on the drums. With an undying love for the hard-hitting and ear snagging music in the industry, Aftermath pushes to bring the top of the line space filling music that will, without a doubt, grow to unbelievable levels in the music world.
Eleven Eleven
By · CommentsA three-piece powerhouse of the classic style: bass, drums, guitar. We pride ourselves as a no-frills rock band that performs contemporary music such as Tom Petty, Big Head Todd and the Monsters, The Black Crowes, as well as the classic icons: Jimi Hendrix, Cream, Joan Jett, Humble Pie…and the list goes on.
With the flexibility of three vocalists we can diversify our show to keep it both entertaining and energizing for the audience.
Whether you have a club, festival or private party, eleven/eleven will deliver…BIG TIME!
Jack Lukas/Guitar & Vocals
John “JC” Clevenger/Drums & Vocals
Deb Altman/Bass, Vocals and an Occasional Cowbell
Guitar Modifications From Buck
By · CommentsBuck has been playing guitar for over 40 years, would like to call himself an old hippie, but by day he disguise his self as a city servant. My passion is anything related to music and guitars, and I will go head to head any time with Frank over at Tech Jaws with Music Trivia, get ready to put your running shoes on buddy!
His first real guitar was a 1967 or 1968 – red two single coil Gibson Melody Maker, scared to death, I could barely even play it, let alone know how to work on it. I traded it for a 1969 Gibson Les Paul Deluxe.
My first real experience of breaking the magic guitar stigma came in 1983 or there abouts, when I was given an Epiphone Les Paul Kit. It was an ash body with a set mahogany neck. It was a Gibson Les Paul Body, sold as an Epiphone. I added Schaller Tuners, DiMarzio Dual Sound Pickups, finishing the body and neck in a natural finish, with Spar Varnish.
I mounted all the hardware, and was not pleased with the sound, at the heck now.
I bought books, one of my friends, Jack Lukas – Eleven Eleven is his new band, took me to a real guitar repair man. Mark from MDS in Chicago, Mark and I talked a lot about wiring options and shielding all of which I knew nothing about. Finally with Mark’s talent and my ideas, my epi-kit was born.
Having more balls than brains and a lot of luck, he helped many friends with their guitar problems, even those guitars that had strange sounds that no one but the owner. It’s a scavenger hunt sometimes.
Input jacks, guitar pickups, re-stringing guitars, setting intonation, guitar neck adjustments, amp repair is something that I am becoming a bit better at, it’s all in the research!
